The Portland Interscholastic League Hall of Fame is proud to announce the launch of our newest media initiative: The '12 & 32' Podcast.

The podcast is co-hosted by PIL Hall of Famers and former Madison High teammates, Jeff Erdman and Bill Booth. The inaugural episode was launched Friday, Jan. 23, and featured Erdman and Booth speaking with McDaniel High School volleyball star, Lily Mae Buerkle, and her coach, Kyla Henry.

Buerkle is a senior All-State setter who will attend the University of Washington on an athletic scholarship. Coach Henry is a legacy coach who recently took over the McDaniel program after assisting her father for many years.

“We are very excited to help tell the stories of today’s standout PIL student-athletes, highlight the hard-working coaches and their programs, and share the challenges and changes involved in running successful youth athletic programs today,” says Erdman.

Adds Booth: “So many people want to hear the stories of remarkable PIL athletes, and we have the attention of a strong Hall of Fame, alumni base and youth sports community.”

The 12 & 32 podcast’s name reflects the jersey numbers worn by the co-hosts during their playing days in the 1970s. Erdman is a highly respected former PIL athlete, coach, athletic director and supporter. Booth is a longtime advocate for inner-city youth sports and a well-known fundraiser for nonprofit organizations. Both are long-serving board members of the PIL Hall of Fame.

12 & 32 is available on the PIL Hall of Fame YouTube channel, McDaniel’s The Oracle newsfeed and major podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and other leading streaming services. It will soon be available on the PIL Hall of Fame website as well.

The podcast is produced in a new studio at McDaniel High School, with instructional oversight by Jason Miller and student producer Davide Mbaye. Special thanks go to McDaniel Principal Adam Skyles, Athletic Director Tyler Kelleher, PIL Athletic Director Marshall Haskins and the PIL Hall of Fame executive team for their continued support and encouragement.
