Four-year Basketball letter winner; played on 1942-43 Team that was PIL Champion (16-0); two-time First Team All-PIL. Four-year Baseball letter winner; member of undefeated 1942 PIL Champion; played first base and was two-time First Team All-PIL.
Post-High School Career
Signed professional baseball contract with New York Yankees; roomed with Mickey Mantle in spring training; played for Portland Beavers in 1957. Retired as 20-year captain with Milwaukie Fire Department.
