Commentary

Participating in sports at Grant High School provided me the foundation of being true to your school and to yourself. My mother and father (Bettye and Bobby Lewis) were instrumental in my athletic career and pushed me to excel in every sport. My brother Richard and brother-in-law Woody Green, who both are members of the PIL Hall of Fame, also inspired me to be competitive and the best I can be in each sport I played.

Along with my parents and my brother, my wife Julie (my high school sweetheart) has been my rock for the last 39 years and has inspired me to always be my best. However, my son Craig, is my biggest inspiration. I coached him during his younger years and cheered him on during his high school and college basketball career. Seeing the man and father he has become has brought me my greatest joy.
