Football: Captain, 1st team All-PIL; 2nd team All-State; member of Shrine All-Star team. Wrestling: Captain, Four-time State Meet qualifier; 2nd place in State senior year; PIL champion junior and senior years. Track and Field: Captain, Held school long jump record.
Post-High School Career
University of Washington – Played four years of football; member of winning Rose Bowl team 1960 and 1961; graduate assistant in 1964. Coached two years at Franklin HS (football, wrestling, track and field). First head football and wrestling coach at Jackson HS. Coached at Oregon College of Education (football) two years; defensive coordinator at Portland State University for seven years. Assistant Director of Athletics for Portland Public Schools eight years and Director of Athletics for Portland Public Schools for seven years. Has served on the Police Activities League (PAL) Board of Directors.
