Commentary

Playing sports in High School was THE best for me. I was a shy kid and all athletes know that it is a lot easier to make friends when you're on a sports team. Athletics helped me gain confidence and purpose and taught me many valuable life skills such as how to work with others, time management, determination, dedication, winning with class, losing with dignity, and encouraging others. Athletics also helped me to focus academically on getting accepted to college to further my education and hone my athletic skills to succeed at the next level.

I have fond memories of the many games, matches, and tournaments I played in as well as the relationships I developed. I thank my coaches for giving me their best instruction and encouragement and thank my teammates for giving their best efforts and teaching me how to be a positive teammate. Thank you also to Mr. Jack Bertell for nominating me and to the Selection Committee for this great honor.
