Commentary
Kenny honed his strength and coordination early with gymnastics through “circus kids” in the Portland City Parks. He remembers “good coaching” at Roosevelt. Kenny coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball teams for about 10 years. His son James followed his steps to Roosevelt where he became an All-league quarterback in football and center-fielder in baseball. (From a brief phone interview.)
Kenny worked in a plywood mill and became a barber.
