Post-High School Career
A 1954 graduate of Franklin High School, Joyce Gago volunteered countless hours at her alma mater from 1976 to 1990 and a Part-time employee for Portland Public Schools from 1991-2012. She served as President of the Quaker Club and PTA; served on May Fete and Rose Festival (1978-2013) decorating floats; Coached cheer (20 years) and as a volunteer Dance coach (2 years); worked concessions for football, basketball, baseball, wrestling and highland games; and was a founder and board member of the FHS Alumni Association that has to date donated well over $150,000 for FHS teams, clubs, and projects at the school.
