2 basketball letters: 1973 All-PIL West Division guard; MVP; Team Captain.
4 baseball letters: 1st Team All-PIL pitcher as a junior; 1st Team All PIL and 1st Team All-State third baseman as a senior; Team Captain.
Post-High School Career
4-year letter winner in baseball at Portland State University; two-time All-NorPac; 1975 Gold Glove winner; 1977 Team Captain on NCAA Division I regional playoff team; Signed by San Diego Padres org. as a free agent in 1977; Portland Mavericks All-Northwest League pitcher in 1977.
Served as head Lake Oswego High School baseball coach, 1997-99; co-coach of the year in the Three-Rivers League, 1998. Pitching Coach at Lewis & Clark College, 2009-11; Volunteer Asst. coach of Women Basketball at Wilson HS, 2008-12.
President of the PIL Hall of Fame Board of Directors since 2015. Partner, Dunn and Pienovi Properties.
Commentary
My athletic experiences taught me that you can do anything you set your mind to. It developed a dedicated work ethic in me to accomplish whatever goals I set for myself, individually, or my team. The experiences taught me how to deal with adversity. Athletics tested my perseverance. These contributed directly to my sales and business career. Athletics taught me invaluable lessons on the development of teamwork and leadership. I am 100% devoted to the lessons organized sports teaches us in regards to life lessons.
