George Wight
Post-High School Career
PIL Hall of Fame Merit Award Recipient, 2010
George is a long-time volunteer for Cleveland High School athletics, Portland Interscholastic League athletics and many collegiate track and field meets.
He has worked Cleveland track events and boys and girls basketball games since 1986, Cleveland football games since the late 1980s women's soccer games for 20 years.
George has been an official at PIL District track and field meets for 15 years; has been head long jump and triple jump official at State High School Meets at Western Oregon University for seven years.
He is a proud supporter of Neah-Kah-Nie High School athletics.
The Portland Interscholastic League Hall of Merit Award (officially renamed the Roy Love PIL Hall of Fame Distinguished Service Award in 2017) celebrates individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the PIL community and to honoring and preserving the rich history of high school athletics in Portland.
