Mt. Hood Community College Baseball from 1991-93 first base & outfield; Portland State University Baseball from 1993-95 first base & outfield. Baseball Coach at Mt. Hood Community College for 12 years, 7 years as head coach; 5-time Regional Coach of the Year; 5 Regional Championships; 1 NWAACC Region Championship, 1 NWAACC Coach of the Year.
Commentary
My dad taught me at an early age — show me who your friends are, and I'll show you who you are. From that, I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by some of the best athletes in southeast Portland.
The moment that changed my life was when Franklin High hosted and won a home play-off football game my senior year (1990) and it was the first time in 25 years. To see the whole community of southeast Portland come out and support us and how uplifting it was for everybody was something I'll never forget.
Playing for and coaching with Mt. Hood CC coach Dale Stebbins (NWAACC Hall of Fame member) was an honor; to be taken under his wing and being able to study under his tutelage is the greatest experience I could have received.
I am currently in my eighth year as the Northwest Area Scout for the Miami Marlins, covering territories of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Alaska, and British Columbia.
