4-year Track letterman, 3-time winner and record setter, 200-year low hurdles, 120-yard high hurdles and 880-yard relay. Graduated with PIL and State records, 22.6, low hurdles; 15.3, high hurdles, and 1:32.7 880-relay, senior. 3-year Basketball letterman, starter and leading scorer, junior and senior; 1st team All-PIL, senior. Student Body President.
Post-High School Career
Track and basketball, Whitman College before becoming a B-17 pilot in the Air Corps, flew 28 successful missions over Germany in World War II. After the war, graduated University of Oregon. Business career with Hoch and Selby, a fabric supply house for recovering residential furniture.
