High School Honors
Track and Field – One of top distance runners in country; Won PIL Mile Championship with 5:10.4 and also won State Championship; Time of 5:08.8 for mile was fastest in state; Second place in National AAU Women’s Track and Field Championship 3000-meter run; Natonal Junior Women’s cross country champion. Set Women’s World Record for marathon in 1970 and was recognized by Sports Illustrated.
Post-High School Career
Served as counselor for children and teens and then became program director of athletic program for Olympians and national class track and field athletes.
