Commentary
On behalf of our family, thank you PIL Hall of Fame for bestowing this honor on Bobby Janisse and recognizing him in such a positive and prestigious way. We dearly loved him and thoroughly enjoyed his wrestling career.
From Peninsula Wrestling Club all the way through Jefferson High School, we followed him like paparazzi and we were so very proud of his accomplishments. Bobby was more than a gifted athlete. He was a wonderful son, grandson, cousin, uncle, friend and teammate. He was an excellent student who did all of his school work without being told to.
Through wrestling, he traveled the world representing the USA, thrilling us with his successes. He had a great sense of humor; he was humble, loving, charming, intelligent, dedicated, handsome, and a fierce competitor. Words cannot express how much we miss him.
Bobby was fortunate to have some great coaches during his wrestling career: Roy Pittman, Donnie McPherson, Don Lierman and Romelio Salas. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for Bobby every step of the way! And to all of his wrestling brothers, you guys are the greatest! Thanks for the memories!
