Commentary

Favorite quote: "In sports & in life you will get knocked down... it's about how well you rise."

What a blessing to have the physical ability to participate in athletics! It is an opportunity I try not to take for granted. Many individuals have physical limitations that do not allow them to play. It is truly a gift to have competed in so many athletic contests over the years.

I am fortunate that I participated in athletics when I did. Kids today are encouraged to specialize in specific sports at such a young age. I was encouraged by my family & coaches to play three sports, throughout high school. Today it is rare that a three-sport athlete plays all three sports, for four years.

I would like to thank my family, teachers and coaches for all of their support over the years. Coaches Francin, Hughes, Jones and Trapp for reminding us of how much pride there has always been at Marshall HS. This honor means even more to me since Marshall has closed.
