High School Honors
2-year letter winner in football, All-PIL second team as junior, All-PIL and second team All-State as a senior. 2-year letter winner in basketball, All-PIL as junior and senior, second team All-State as a senior. Leading scorer (l8.5 avg) and rebounder (10.3) on '57 State Championship team.
Post-High School Career
Andre's father Henri LaBorde had made a name for himself at Stanford as an NCAA discus champion and silver-medal winner in the 1932 Olympic Games. Andre played freshman basketball at Stanford and graduated with a BA Degree. He received a Law Degree from Hastings School of Law. His penchant for competition was satisfied to some degree in racing cars in Europe and downhill skiing. In his 40-year legal career he was a public defender, assistant District Attorney, lobbyist and finally a criminal defense attorney. He died in 2006.
