Commentary

For me sports weren't just something played on the field or on the court, they were my life. My friendships, my hobbies, my weekends, and family fun were centered around sports. Sports helped me build a foundation for some of life’s biggest lessons—teamwork, leadership, integrity, self-confidence, and commitment. They also led me to my husband, who I met on the soccer field on an adult co-ed team! It has been wonderful to share the glory (and heartache) of sports with my family, friends, and now my children.

I would like to thank my parents, Ellen and Jim Reuler, for providing me with the opportunity to explore my strengths. Not to mention their unwavering support from the sidelines of every game, match, scrimmage, tournament, and award banquet. In addition, my accomplishments would not have been possible without my best friend, goalkeeper, and doubles partner, Sarah Dulcich. Sarah was a relentless athlete and her competitive edge helped us to the successes we shared. Sharing all of our athletic experiences together enriched my love for sports.

I am thankful and humbled to be included in the PIL Hall of Fame. I proudly share this experience with my children and hope to pass down a love for sports.
